Vanguard One Perfect Shot competition – winners announced!
After receiving an incredible amount of entries, our shortlist of 10 top images has been whittled down to the final, prizewinning three shots
The One Perfect Shot competition in association with Vanguard has now come to a close, and we were hugely impressed by the standard of the entries that we received.
You sent us truly stunning images covering everything from landscapes to portraits, all of which were truly remarkable, demonstrating incredible creativity and vision.
After creating a shortlist of our ten favourite images we had the tough task of selecting a winner and two runners-up, but we believe that you will agree that the winning images are worthy champions.
Winner: Marianna Pallos-Keseru
“To do a ‘trash the dress’ photo shoot we went to an abandoned building. We used smoke grenades and a torch. I wanted to shoot this from a different angle so the light would be behind them. The smoke, the light wind moving her dress and their connection made this photo magical,” explains Pallos-Keseru.
As the competition winner, Marianna receives the top prize bundle comprising the Alta Pro 284CB 100 tripod with SBH-100 ball head (RRP £330), the new Alta Rise 48 bag (RRP £150), the VEO AM-264TR monopod (RRP £80) and 13 issues of Digital Photographer magazine (RRP £65).
Runner-up: Nef Selmani
Lift Me Up: A reveller is lifted in front of the main stage during The Holi Festival of Colours at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on September 12, 2015. This day saw hundreds of revellers hurl packages of bright dye into the air as part of an outdoor music and dance festival.
Runner-up Stephen Darlington
“I have thought about getting an image like this for a long time, and one misty morning in Bushy Park this fallow deer buck happened to be in the right place, backlit by this lovely golden light. [It] more than makes up for the hundreds of other mornings when you get nothing,” explains Darlington.
Both the runners-up will receive the VEO 235AB tripod with TBH-50 ball head (RRP £135) and the VEO 37 camera bag (RRP £70).
