–Leaf, the developer of the world’s fastest medium-format digital camera solutions, and Peartree are pleased to announce the Best Photo Competition in collaboration with City and Islington College. A new Leaf Valeo 6 digital back along with a Hasselblad 500 camera was handed to Ms. Aldona Kmiec on Wednesday June 18th, during the opening of the students’ end of year exhibition at the AOP galley.
Ms. Kmiec’s work was awarded for talent, vision, technique and diversity. One the judging panel were Mr. Richard Maxted, an award winning photographer and a director at the AOP, Wendy Chapman of Morgan Lockyer agency, Andy Quiney of Peartree and Yair Shahar from Leaf.
“We have been involved with Colleges, schools and universities for many years as we realize the importance of helping students to prepare themselves for the fast moving digital creative work once they’ve left school”, says Yair Shahar, Leaf’s business development manager. “When the students invited us to take part in their exhibition, we thought that providing the most advanced, complete medium format camera system in the world to the winner would be a valuable contribution to the winner’s work and future”.
“City and Islington College has been using several Leaf digital backs that we have provided, along with a comprehensive training programme for students and lecturers”, says Andy Quiney, Managing Director at Peartree. “Together with Leaf we will continue to invest in schools and universities as we recognise the need to invest in the future of professional photography.”
