South Devon based photography gallery and workshop provider Bangwallop are hanging their “Winter Collection” on Nov.1st.
Set to be an eclectic mix of top photographers, the front of the Gallery will host a Feature Wall which will exhibit a new artist every 6 weeks. The first featured photographer is David Clapp, from Totnes. Nov.1st- Dec.15th – a regular contributor to Digital Photographer magazine.
“I always endeavour to capture images with spontaneity if I can.” Says David. “It’s this sense of magic, this extra ingredient in my photography that I now crave all the time. I have never been a landscape photography purist and I just can’t exclude humanity or even humble farmyard animals out of my work as they provide a necessary sense of scale, sentimentality or personal qualities I feel lift the image to greater heights. My exhibition signature piece, from last years monumental March storms captured in Sennen Cove, demonstrates how essential just one person can be to photograph. I was very pleased that the image was extremely well received in the Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition. This competition has helped build my reputation tenfold, leading to many exciting possibilities both locally in Devon and far beyond. Having my first exhibition at Bang Wallop Gallery in Salcombe is another solid step forwards and it is this belief in my images and adventures that will surely push me forwards to greater and greater things, all from a small guitar filled office near Totnes.”
