Light Painting is a photography technique used to selectively light your subject during a long exposure. You will need a small light source such as a torch or an LED coloured light  – you can even use sparklers or some lit wire wool if you’re outdoors!

Since it’s Christmas you’ll probably be spending a lot of time at home, so why not try this technique in a dark room? Get the kids to help you set up the shot and share your results with the family.

What you will need:

1. Digital camera
2. Tripod
3. Dark room (block out all light with curtains or balck card)
4. Torch
5. Subject to photograph
