Paint on the colour – With a small brush use the light colour first to paint a base layer above the eye. Set this layer’s Blending mode to Soft Light at the top of the layers palette. Add a new layer and switch to the darker tone.

Continue the work – Make your brush smaller to paint on the darker colour where needed. Set the blending mode to Soft Light. Repeat this technique on cheeks and lips if desired. Use the Eraser tool or a mask to get rid of any excess colour.
