This month Prague Workshops LLC, a Longmont, Colorado based company announced four week-long workshops taught by world-leading photographers in Europe’s most photogenic city with an international competition that could win two lucky entrants the chance to study with the best.
Aimed at serious or developing amateur photographers, pro shooters and technicians and students who are aiming to make a name for themselves on the international scene, these events will take intimate groups through everything they need to up their game.
The man behind the initiative, Pulitzer Prize Finalist David Brauchli, has drawn on the skills of his contemporaries Nick Didlick, Richard Ellis, Dirck Halstead, PF Bentley, Alain Pierre Hovasse, Bob Krist, Daniel Sheehan and Kurt Vinion to create master-classes in Wedding Reportage, Travel and Stock Photography and Digital Workflow and bring the world-renown Platypus multimedia workshops to Europe for the first time.
“We see this as more than just workshops though” says Brauchli, “We hope that the combination of the workshops and our web site with its news, reviews and chat will enable us to build a community of students, suppliers and other pros that will help each of us understand the new paradigm in today’s market, take advantage of emerging technologies and opportunities and stay on top in today’s competitive marketplace”.
If the first few days of web site traffic is anything to go by Prague Workshops is destined to be a hit. Site traffic is increasing steadily, contributions are coming in from pros around the world and places on the workshops are filling up. “If the response continues like this” says Brauchli “We have a few more ideas for exciting new initiatives that we can add to the mix”.
