Epson supports charity exhibition, Diamonds in the Rough

28th January 2011 – Epson is supporting a charity photography exhibition, Diamonds in the Rough, which runs from 7th-13th February 2011 at the Pavilions Birmingham, floor 2.

Epson collaborates with Maria Reaney from Silverleaf Photography to support the printing of the works on show at the community exhibition, fruits of Silverleaf Photography’s 12-week programme of workshops in basic photography and film production. The photographs were printed on an Epson Stylus Photo R2880, using Epson A3+ Premium Glossy Photo Paper and Epson UltraChrome™ K3 ink with Vivid Magenta.

Maria from Silverleaf Photography organised the course and programme for SIFA Fireside, a Birmingham-based charity that supports homeless people and others who are socially excluded or disadvantaged. Freelance photographer, Maria, used the workshops to engage and inspire the centre’s users.

Maria’s own work will also be shown alongside the photography and short film produced during the programme by its members. All works will be available for purchase to the general public.

Epson is one of many supporters that include Birmingham City Council and the Lottery Funded Arts Council, England.

Maria approached Epson for assistance in producing the exhibition. Epson suggested the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 printer, used by both amateur and professional photographers alike, for superb print quality. Used with UltraChrome™ K3 ink with Vivid Magenta, photographs achieve superb grey balance, smooth tonal gradations and great colour accuracy of neutral and dark colours.

Diamonds in the Rough runs between 10am-4pm at Pavilions Birmingham, floor 2, from 7th-13th February 2011. A private view will take place on 7th February between 5.30-7.30pm.
