Camera Price Comparison Site Reveals Camera Products Priced from 1p to £20,000

Edinburgh, United Kingdom, 8th Dec 2009 – Power Up Technologies Limited, the company behind the successful mobile phone price comparison site PowerupMobile.com, has diversified in to the high end digital camera market with the launch of a new web site – PowerupCamera.com.

The new web site compares the latest prices on digital SLR cameras, lenses and accessories and is aimed at the enthusiastic amateur, semi professional and professional photographer rather than the mainstream point and shoot and digital compact camera market.

Prices are collated daily from the major UK camera retailers such as Jessops, Jacobs, Warehouse Express and Amazon on products from top selling brands including Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Sony, Sigma and Tamron. The site currently compares over 500 products, priced from one pence for a replacement Canon lens cap to a Sigma 200mm-500m F2.8 telephoto lens approaching the twenty thousand pound mark.

“The new web site builds on the success and basic business model of our mobile phone site,  after seeing a gap in the market, a dedicated high end camera price comparison site  seemed like a logical next step to grow the business and diversify” explains Jeff Shillitto, Managing Director of Power Up Technologies. “Being a keen photographer myself also makes the site a pleasure to work on” he adds.

Power Up Technologies Limited is an online publisher of price comparison and social networking web sites. The company designs and develops its own in house software and applications to collect, analyse, share and publish consumer product information from retailer pricing to independent user generated shopping reviews. Current sites in the company portfolio include PowerupMobile.com, PowerupCamera.com and Stuffpit.com.
