A clean, uncluttered studio shot of a someone can make for a nice portrait, but it’s not the best way to tell the viewer about the subject of the photo. Environmental portraits place subjects in their own natural environments, and can speak volumes about a person’s personality, lifestyle, profession, hobbies or beliefs for example.

If you’ve got some hidden gems tucked away that you’d like to see published, then send your best environmental portraits to josie.reavely@imagine-publishing.co.uk, along with the following info to be in with a chance.

Details:

Images need to be 300dpi, and sent with the following:

- Shot details (Camera, lens, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, ISO + any additional light sources / other equipment used)
- Your name
- Your DP Gallery link
- Your location
- 100 words (max) about how / why / where you took the photo
